Qualifications/ Skills
Fluent in Klingon and Familiar with most
mainstream languages but is only fluent in Klingon and English at this
time. Doug has practical experience in Engineering and Security. Doug
has done well in both Accounting and Mathematics., but his best skills
are showcased in Engineering and Security. Doug has a knack for
precision and has always felt those fields were the ones to excel in
to get noticed.
Doug's main goal is to one ay Command Starship. Doug
is driven by a sense of duty to excel in his position. He can be easy
to get along with but is not one to let personal feelings get in his
way when on duty. He is very dedicated to the fleet and it shows in
his work ethic. He is well versed and has studied many alien
languages. He feels that in his Career Choice as a Starfleet Officer
he must be able to read a person by their mannerisms, he is a good
judge of character.
Doug is an excellent diplomat but is as
comfortable discussing a matter diplomatically as he is with physical
combat. His tactical skills match his verbal ones. He is an explorer
on the surface but a warrior at heart. Once he decides to fight there
is no turning back. He is loyal to all that have earned his trust and
respect. To him the fleet isn't just a career it is his life. Doug
knew very early in life that his goal was Starfleet. Therefore he
researched and became familiar with as many weapons as possible to
maintain an edge. Doug has mastered two forms of ancient Japanese
martial arts, Judo ,and Tae Kwon Doe. Doug has also begun to master
the basic Klingon martial art.
Background:
While growing up in Virginia Plateau, on the east cost of
North America. Doug was from a small but caring family. He has one
older brother Wade who can fix almost anything and along with his
father and grandfather helped to mold Doug's personality.
Doug is from a long line of Engineers and Military officers. To him
Starfleet was the natural choice for him. During his college years he
focused his skills in the Engineering and Security Divisions. Doug
felt that the Federation needed as many Officers for those departments
and expects to excel in whatever division he is allowed to serve in,
or both should his career path lead him down that road. Immediately
out of High School Doug enrolled in the Federation's Starfleet
Security Scout Program. This is a program for civilians funded but
Starfleet to allow teenagers to see if the life of a Starfleet Officer
is for them. Doug excelled in this and stayed in the program for 5
years rising to the program rank of Captain. Doug resigned his
position in early 3075 as he was accepted to Starfleet Academy and
recently became married to a nurse.
