Background: J'halen was born of the union between his mother and a Romulan officer. She was assigned to a research vessel near

the Neutral Zone when they had an accident and drifted tp the wrong side of the Zone. In the esnuing disputes over wheither

the incursion was accidental or not she met and had relations with an officer. This chance encounter prodiced a child.

When he was born she named him after a Romulan scientist she admired.

J'halen was fortunately outwardly Human appearing. He did posses an unusualy high telepathic potential and a

minor ability to project his emotions on others. He went through life pretty much

as any other child, Lynda eventually married a Human male named Joseph Horist and had another male child who they named

George. George and J'halen were both close and very competitive both being intelligent and athletic. J'halen also accepted

Joseph as his own father and is very close to him as well. Lynda eventually settled down to a ground assignment in San

Francisco as well.

J'halen showed an intrest in Xenobiology like his mother but also the rocks and minerals facinated him as well as weather.

It seemed his mind was like a sponge, absorbing any information put to it and retaining it nearly 100%. He continued to prusue

more athletic and combat oriented studies as well. His grade point was high enough that he was offered a position with the

Martian Academy of sciences where he catalogued many spiceis of plant and animal form all over the Galaxy and surveyed new

worlds. He was accepted into the Academy at 21 due to his extended service to the MAS.

J'halen is a social man, loving the contact of others, never one to miss a good party. He is also loyal to his family and one

day hopes to find his father's family and fulfill his mother's promise
