Viva is a strong believer that Women can be both empowered and feminine, and strongly dislikes women who feel they have to be anti-feminine or masculine to get anywhere in the universe.
As such Viva enjoys a broad range of activities including a number typically associated with either females or males. Viva especially enjoys, shopping for clothes and shoes, several spa and health holo suite programs, she often takes the time to look after her hair and hands. When not on duty Viva likes to slip into something more comfortable usually a pair of sweats and her service undershirt. Having been moderately insecure about her height all her life Viva often wears shoes with at least 2” heals to compensate when dressing up for special occasions.
Viva is fond of animals especially cats, when she was growing up it often felt like the only friends she had were her cats and as such has always had one ever since.
When listening to music Viva likes to listen to classical music from the 1980s era of Earth. Her favourite music is usually easy going rock and electronic music with some dance and house music in the mix.
Viva is amongst other things also a hopeless romantic and often has her head buried in a romance novel, often reading about romance between others distracts her from the lack of romance in her life.
Dislikes:
Viva dislikes piloting anything bigger then a shuttle, being something of a tomboy when it comes to flying she prefers to fly fast, small and manoeuvrable ships to large less nimble star ships.
Believing that women act be both successful and feminine Viva hates working with career women.
Viva is highly suspicious of doctors and avoids them at all costs, especially when she has a problem, which could stop her from flying. This also relates to Viva’s dislike of being grounded for any period of time.
Childhood / Growing up:
Up to the age of 7 Viva and her family happily lived in Havana, Cuba. However at age 7 her father who was serving in Starfleet at the time was re-assigned to Los Angeles, California. Not wanting to split the family up, or transport to work each day, the family all moved with him to their new home in LA.
This was in some ways hardest on Viva, who was the youngest of three children. Her older brother and sister both had the advantages of being able to speak Basic English, and being older had a better understanding of American culture.
Viva alone, and isolated for almost all intents and purposes found this a difficult period, it was however thanks to her families support, and the kindness of a few people at her school and in the local community, that she was able to avoid complete solitude.
By the age of 9 Viva had learned to speak both fluent English and Spanish, having adopted an American accent when she spoke English. Choosing not to use a universal translator and learn the old fashioned way.
By the time she hit puberty Viva had completely adapted to her new life in LA. At school she was no longer isolated and had now made many friends, she also continued to do well in all her subjects.
It was not until she was 14/15 that Viva noticed the extra attention that the boys at school had been giving her, it did not take long to realise the reasons why, and this sparked Viva’s first interest in being a model.
Although her father and mother did not wholly approve Viva’s choice of career, they still supported her in what she wanted to do. By 16 she had appeared in several publications, but her career had yet to really take off.
At 18 Viva graduated from high school, although not one of the best in her year, Viva graduated with reasonable grades in all her subjects, she initially intended to finally launch her modelling career full time, however this was not to be. Depressed and disappointed Viva’s future was unclear.
Ultimately Viva chose to follow in her father’s footsteps and join Starfleet.
Education / Schooling:
Received 3 years of Education in Havana, before her move to LA
Educated in both local Elementary and Junior High Schools
Graduated High School with the following subjects:
English, Maths, Sciences, Social Studies, Physical Education, Spanish, Performing Arts (Dance) and Extraterrestrial Studies.
Relationship Background:
Viva did not initially take an interest in boys until her late teens, mainly because of the isolation she had experienced upon first coming to LA but also because of the pressures of her parents to do well at school.
Finally at age 17 Viva ventured out of her safety zone and began dating a friend from school, their relationship blossomed and went steady until the end of their final school year after which he left to go to University on Vulcan. Viva having little experience with boys took this very hard, and because of this ruined her chances to become a model.
After joining the Academy Viva had a number of short-term relationships, which all eventually broke down in part because Viva was now afraid to make long-term relationships with anyone to avoid the pain she had previously felt.
Since leaving the Academy Viva had concentrated on her job as a Pilot and has had very little time for men, although she often goes out partying and still likes to flirt.

“What can I say Commander Pace is a fine officer and the best pilot I have seen for many years, when she’s in the cockpit no one can do better, however outside of the cockpit she shows an uneasiness with the crew, according to her records she has problems with attachment to others and while this would be useful in combat, generally speaking its not a good trait, however having said this, it has a minimal impact in her job.
If you need a good pilot and a good officer then you wont find anyone better then Viva.”

Academy Records:
Initially signing on as a general Technician, following basic training and testing Viva was shown to have a naturally special talent at piloting and flying. Not wanting to loose such talent to general duties, Viva was transferred to pilot school / training where she underwent both Basic and Advanced training.
For her Third year Viva was assigned to the USS Amsterdam for in the field training, again excelling at her job, although her CO did comment a concern about her off duty activities and her social skills in general
For her final year Viva returned to Earth where she finished off all her training and was given her pilots licence. Vida graduated at the top of her class and was granted the rank of Ensign.
Other Notes:
Viva got her call sign from the way men would whistle as she walked by, focusing their attention on her posterior and general body shape.
