Irrational Starfleet Cadets Implicated

As outlined in portions of a disturbing report recently obtained by FNS, Starhase Zeta was overrun by a group of Starfleet cadets. Details remain sketchy at this time, but sources have indicated that the cadets were part of a Starfleet Academy experiment that took a severe turn for the worse. While conducting simulated war games aboard the station, the cadets became irrantional and disconnected from reality according to a source within the station, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The station was taken over and its senior officers held hostage in the standoff. Anesthesia gas was administered to finally bring an end to the deadly stalemate.

Officials from Starbase Zeta, Starfleet Academy, and Starfleet Command refuse to comment on the uprising, pending further investigation. Dr. Devron Thynax, noted neuro scientist and professor at Starfleet Academy has resigned his post, insisting that it in no way relates to the incident on Starbase Zeta.

President Kidnapped

In a bold and daring move, a group of Separatists kidnapped the President while he was touring the frontier base known as Starbase Zeta. The President had just left a banquet in his honor when the assault occurred. The security escort was overpowered and the President was whisked away. The demands of the kidnappers are unknown and it is hoped that the President is still alive.

New addiction takes over Zeta

This unknown addiction is already contributing to many new social problems all over Starbase Zeta. Adults are spending their credits like crazy as they fall prey to this mysterious substance. The officers and crew who have been so afflicted are abandoning their jobs, friends and family. Base-wide operations have taken a fall and security reports a dramatic increase in crime all over the base.
Down in the promenade, the dabo games are running over time as drug-crazed crewman gamble till all hours of the day and night. The Admiralty is up in arms and is launching a full-scale investigation to find out how such a substance could have got on board Zeta to begin with. Someone's head will surely roll for this, Admiral Yuy remarked. This kind of behavior from my crew is intolerable.
